20000712 Bomb exercise

Someone called in a bomb threat to work. A bomb squad could theoretically be dispatched, but only if someone actually sees a bomb, or what is likely a bomb. Phone threats are not taken seriously by the city. And the cops would not go in because that is not their job. So my team and I got to go in and sweep. It keeps coming back to what our ERT (Emergency Response Team) head trainer says: "You're on your own more often than you can get any professional help."

Today, I went outside only once, to Far Burrito. It was dubbed thus when we lived on the other side of town from it. Now it's closer than Near Burrito, but we don't want to confuse ourselves by renaming them.
