19991008 Closet

I have completed conversion of my coat closet into a patch and server booth with forced ventilation and 2.3kW UPS backup. In the summer it vents out to garage; in winter it vents into house to reclaim the heat. I am working on IP forwarding and masquerading Linux so I can automatically route traffic across the ISP connection that is working the best at the time. DSL is more reliable than it used to be, but Ricochet radio modem and plain-ole dialup have saved my butt many times. While our house was torn apart for remodel before moving in, I pulled 3 CAT5, 2 RG6, and a hefty speaker wire through conduit to every room (except the bathrooms—some place has to be sacred), plus an extra to the office.
