19990928 Trix are for

Dear General Mills breakfast product development,
I thought there was a constant I could depend on in life. Even beyond my teens I occasionally buy a box of Trix. Each time I have been comforted not only by the colorful, crunchy, sugary goodness, but even more by the familiar, consistent, spherical shapes. Last week, the mood struck; I asked my partner (who now does all the grocery shopping) to procure a box of Trix. I just opened it, and was shocked to see something almost but not quite entirely unlike Trix: yellow slices, red nodules, psychedelic flowers, purple clumps (grape bunches?), green things with red centers (pimento-olive slices?), and, oh, a few old-fashioned orange spheroids, thank you. But even when I close my eyes, the texture and taste is quite different from the cereal I fondly remember from previous experiences. Some things just should not be changed.
