20180521 Here is a way for you to do more good

Don't be too attached to what people do with your doing.
If you produce more than three reasons to do a particular, specific good: proceed with caution. It doesn't mean it's the wrong choice, just that you are already attached to the outcome and opening the door to potential frustration.
Again: if your reasons are much more detailed than "this is the right thing to do" and "I have the ability to it," you are already attached to the outcome.
It takes emotional wherewithal to suffer and manage the gap between expectation and outcome. If you accumulate too many of these gaps you won't have the wherewithal to do additional good; you will stall and become discouraged.
If it isn't going as you expect, are unwilling to shift your expectation, and have reached a point of diminishing returns influencing the outcome; let go without guilt. Reassess and do a different good—it's okay.
Be nimble and adjust so you can be true to your capacity as well as values.
Choose sustainable good.
